PRESIDENT'S REMARKS

Dear Friends,

With this newsletter we are participating in an exchange with the Canadian Organic Growers (COG). This spring, the Ecological Farmers' Association of Ontario (EFAO) asked COG to send all our members information on the "Organic Resource Guide" which COG is preparing. In turn, COG requested that we send all their Ontario members a copy of the EFAO NEWS.

At the EFAO we felt that all our members would want to know about the Organic Resource Guide and that many would want to take out a listing in it. We were surprised that only about 15% of our members were also COG members and felt that a mail out from COG would be the best way to get the information directly to you.

If you are a COG member who has not seen the EFAO NEWS before, we hope you will enjoy it and come to some of our farm tours and events this summer. The EFAO has been helping farmers make the transition to organic agriculture for over 15 years, by sponsoring farm tours, courses, workshops, on-farm consultations and running an ecological agricultural lending library. We also manage the Canadian Community Supported Agricultural Resource Centre.

We invite you to join the Ecological Farmers' Association of Ontario. Our membership information and form are inside the back cover. For members of both organizations, who may have received two copies of this mailing, please pass one on to an interested friend.

May all you spring seeding be prospering in the fields, and all your first cut hay be in the barn.
