Unbelievable but true, another summer has come and gone. Now pumpkins adorn our doorways, and crispy leaves fill our ears with their crunch and our nose with the scent of fall.
It's time for taking stock - for me both literally, when it comes to my tree inventory, and figuratively, when it come to thinking about what's happened these past four months. Already there are times when I wish I'd taken good notes about the weather, or exactly what I'd done, and where. I am reminded more often, and sooner of just how limited memory is.
So, I urge you take a few moments now, read the reports of some of the EFAO's summer events to help you jog your memory, and jot down your own notes to help guide you through the next growing season. The write up about the EFAO's Annual General Meeting highlights the excellent lineup of speakers. We also have a Financial Report. Our feature article, Invasive Aliens, may not give you goosebumps, but it does present some disturbing facts about the situation in farm fencerows and woodlots. Several short news clips are also a call to action. Please check them out too.
As always, we hope to receive contributions for the newsletter from YOU, yes YOU! The sooner, the better! (If we don't use your article immediately, it's sometimes because we're trying to figure the best time and spot for it.) Our next deadline is Dec. 1st.Please use the address below:
